Tried the steak here for the first time tonight. This place is known for its steaks and as the bigger choice is only available in the evenings I thought, why not ?
I had the US Entrecôte steak and you get to see all the meat in a cabinet and it looked great with a nice bit of marbling through it. I would probably estimate it at a 7-8 for marbling. I asked for it medium rare. When the steak arrived it was cooked just the way I like it and it was so easy to cut through.
I ordered a pepper sauce to go with it and unfortunately for me the sauce was not peppery enough and lacked a bit of flavour. I am used to bold and intense pepper sauces and this one unfortunately for me did not meet the mark. Hence the 4 stars. The rosemary kartoffelen I had with the main was delicious and the spinach side was also very good,
I would happily come back for steak here anyway and perhaps try a different sauce or just with a bit of hot English mustard if you can get such things (must remember to ask).Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 025. aug. 2013Tidligere anmeldelseI have been meaning to go here for some time now and finally got a chance to visit this place with some fellow Yelpers.
The interior is big and spacious with lots of nice tables and chairs. It has the ambience of an old Bavarian pub you see around the area and the service is courteous and friendly.
I had the burger as, the steaks choices for Sunday lunch were limited. This place is famous for its steaks and once I have had it here I will update my review. The burger was juicy and cooked just the way I like it (slightly short of well done). I know there is a debate about cooking burgers, all the way trough but, I think medium to medium well burgers are fabulous specially, if you make it with good meat. I really enjoyed my burger and the Bratkartoffle side dish, that I ordered with my burger.

Omfg!!!! You walk into the restaurant. Choose your cut of beef, have them slice what you want. They give you a receipt. Then you sit to order your sides and wine. Delicious and amazing steak. No cheap but worth it. I ordered Austrian wine and the cork was glass.

Fantastic dinner. Even though we rolled the dice on a Saturday night and the tables were full or reserved, there was room at the bar and our food tasted just as delicious. We had Charolais filet (with a wonderful sauce Bernaise) and the house burger. The Toblerone mousse and vanilla quark mousse for dessert were delicious. Good selection of wines by the glass at reasonable prices.
Very high-quality steaks prepared perfectly. You can choose the cut of meat, weight, and of course how it's cooked. Excellent service, modern, chic and comfortable ambiance. Large terrace that looks amazing once it warms up again.
The prices are reasonable for the quality. It is not cheap, but the food is very good along with everything else. Will definitely return.

Was just a random idea to test this steak house. Did not regret it! Super friendly waitress and absolute perfect ambience. Normal prices for munich as a rob eye is about 40€. Burger was 15€

I was looking for a good meat restaurant as I really like beaf and this one completely filled my expectations!
You choose the meat at a counter and how much of it you want. The cook then ask you which cooking you wish to have.
You can order side dishes like fries, potatoes etc...
The service was very good and friendly.
The food was great: very tasty!
The prices are overall a bit on the expensive side but the quality is there.

*The* place to have great steaks. Dried Age, T-Bone, Argentinian or German beef. Always need to have a reservation as the place is usually packed. Make sure you try the mashed sweet potato, really yummy.

A very nice experience and a big selection of steaks. We were here for an team dinner and the staff easily accommodated us. As for the price it was above fair for the quality.
The quality of all the food especially the steaks was really good; they have Wagyu and Rib Eye cuts in addition to a good dry aged selection. The part that was unique was that you had to go to the butcher section of the restaurant when you were ready to order and you get to select your cut as well as the size of it; this was a totally different experience as I'm used to the the waiters coming to the table with the different cuts, but I have to say I liked this a lot. They also have some different salts on the table for the steaks which go very well with it. And finally a comprehensive wine list to pair with the steaks.
The only short coming I found on the menu was that the sides. Am used to a robust sides menu from the steak restaurants in the USA and I did miss it.

I'm not sure how many Fred Astaire fans we have here on Yelp, so this reference may be lost to the masses. In his movie "Top Hat" he sings a song called Cheek to Cheek with the lyrics "Heaven, I'm in Heaven. And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak, and I seem to find the happiness I seek"....well, the second I walked into KVR and I saw the glass cabinet of meat that song started playing in my head. What a classy place!
When you're ready to order you simply walk about to the glass cabinet, tell the the gentleman that grills the steaks which type you would like, and then how much you would like. What a great help that guy was! He will tell you which temperatue is best for the particular cut of steak you are having, which is why, like Sam, I had the US Entrecôte steak with fat marbling cooked medium rare (usually I would have asked for Medium, but I chose to trust the guy). Wow, it arrived perfectly cooked! On a scale of 1 to 10, it was an 11. I also had the rosemary potatoes which were yummy in their own right too! Two gigantic thumbs up for the food :D
Two steaks (one 200g and the other 270g), two sides of rosemary potatoes, 5 beers, one cocktail, and one juice (don't judge, we were thirsty!) cost 91€ before the tip, and I would pay it every day of the week if I could. I wonder if they'll let me wash dishes in the kitchen in exchange for steak....?

While I had the burger here and enjoyed it, I won't come here again for burger. I will, however, come for the steak. This place easily has the best beef in Munich.
Best beef comes with a price tag, of course, which is fair enough. But at least here you can go to the counter and pick exactly which cut of meat you want them to grill for you, and specify how they should cook it. So the price is worth it.
The sides here are decent, but don't expect anything to be included. Basically, you order a la carte. In my mind, it's kinda crappy to sell a burger without including the fries, but that's burger-life in Germany, I guess.
The burger itself is really well executed, but I think I still prefer both Burger House and Burger & Bier better. While KVR has far better quality of beef than either Burger House or B&B, the total burger experience is simply better at the other two places, and also cheaper.

Fantastic and creative menu. Great salad dressings, great steaks cooked to order 100g increments. Classy decor. Will definitely eat here again and definitely recommend.
