Yates's Wine Lodge

The only thing good at this pub is the price of beer, you can smell the toilets while stood at the bar you stick to the floor and you are always waiting a while to get served.

Oh Yates, oh fayre Yates... Here in Bolton it is one of the great places to have food and a drink after a day of shopping. The menu offers a traditional choice of British favourites, from burgers and fish-n-chips to lasagne (indeed, it is one of the favourite British meals). On top of that comes a selection of home-cooked deserts, underpiined by the well-known apple pie with custard. The majority of the public follow the beaten track in their choice of beverages, and all in all, Bolton's Yates stands out as a symbol of the old and familiar in either food or drink. It is the story that repeats itself: "been there, done that, went there again". Can you find a fault with this?

The Bolton Yates is quite good when it comes to food in the daytime. I go here pretty much once a week. You do get the odd rowdy drunken person in the daytime but the customer service is great and they do handle any issues really well. They have polite and helpful workers. I haven't been on a night out in Yates at night for a while but from what I remember it was always packed and a busy place and have reasonable priced drinks. The main good thing I can recommend this place for is the food though it's very yummy.

standard yates' type pub. nothing groundbreaking but you know what you are getting with yates! good food, not too bad prices and some decent music. the place is quite often packed to the rafters on a weekend or friday night so you might struggle to get comfortable in there

I've been to this pub on a couple of occasions for the "nightlife". I found it packed, the service incredibly slow, for the crowd they should have three times the staff on a Friday or Saturday night. The crowd is alot of youngsters, the women are young and look like they are streetwalkers, at the very least tarts on parade, and the men young and old are drunken players drooling over them and betting which one will leave with them the fastest. I saw a few "regulars" at one end of the bar that must have been in their late 40's or 50's absolutely falling over girls about 18 like it was a brothel! If you are looking for a drunk and take away tarts after, this is the place for you..if you are looking for a fun respectible night out with decent friends, don't look here! Also, the music is so loud you cannot even talk to the person sitting next to you!!! HORRIBLE PLACE, HORRIBLE SERVICE AND WORSE PEOPLE!
