My favorite brunch spot while visiting Berlin. Nothing against the other brunch spots - which were also good - but the food here were good. Not just delicious but light and without the heavy/rich flavors to tire you out. Important if tired from the night before or there is a long day ahead.
Get the 1900 Frühstück für zwei (Continental breakfast). Everything was fresh and love that European butter! This was definitely a lot for one person. I like omelettes so the Omlette gefüllt mit Schafskäse & Rucola (omelette with feta cheese and bacon) was what I needed that morning.
The inside was like a bistro and did feel cramped at first. I believe you can make reservations for a large group and get seated downstairs. The staff was friendly, can speak English, and were students as far as I can tell (not quite coeds but close). Other eaters would fit in at any popular brunch spots anywhere. That's the vibe you'll get if you're in to long-lines brunch spots.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0 - 14651099230430. aug. 2017
Per usual after a long morning of shopping we stumbled upon 1900 Cafe after seeing what there was to eat in the nearby area. I never thought I would find such a rustic looking cafe in Berlin. Cute, charming, homey feeling cafe tucked just a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the main street designer shops.
Upon being seated, waitress greeted us warmly and provide us with English menu. Great! After quickly studying the menu we opted for the their meatballs served with a side of greens and some potatoes and the stuffed pepper also served with potatoes and a side of greens. Both were great and the sauces you couldn't help but dip each bite in for more flavor.
Their 1900 tea was also pretty good served with fresh strawberries and mint. A bit much for a warm day but definitely a nice change up from all the espresso I had been drinking all trip. Overall, food was good but I definitely enjoyed the overall ambiance and charm of the place.
'Til next time, cheers!

Nice, little place for breakfast, if you are willing to pay a little bit more. Very cozy but you might have to share the table with other customers. No big deal. Friendly service and the food was good.
Edit: The English menu said "Service not included". Obviously, nothing like that on the German menu and the prices were the same. Don't tip more than one euro (or two if it's a larger group). Typically Germans just round up to avoid dealing with the cents.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 9. dec. 2017
I'm not sure if this is a standard German cuisine... but that being said, it is an excellent place to have breakfast.
I had the omelette with bacon and mushrooms with a side of smoked salmon. It was perfect. The flavor was balanced and the presentation was cute. I paired it with their 1900 tea, which had ginger and strawberries. It was light, yet flavorful.
The atmosphere is very cozy, which is perfect when I was trying to hide from the harsh German winter weather. The service was fast and attentive. Come here if you need good food with a warm, charming experience.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Angelina T.Central District, Seattle, USA19316616. apr. 2019
Healthy option for people who like a lot of fresh veggies. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and the avocado toast was good. I felt great and recharged after eating here. Definitely a good place for people who love quality.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness!
Great place to meet a friend for breakfast, also family friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yerden N.Wien, Østrig1127. jul. 2020
Finding a table outside on a late Sunday morning wasn't problematic, and drinks were served fast (coffees, fresh-pressed juice and water), albeit glasses for the water were dirty with flecks of what I assume was someone else's orange juice. After bringing the dirty glasses to the attention of one of the staff they were replaced with cleaner but not spotless ones (maybe their dishwasher is underpaid/broken). The cutlery was also greasy to the touch (not pleasant) but otherwise looked unused.
The problem was with the food. It took a little over 45 minutes to bring out two Eggs Benedict and a desert -- way too long for a stress-free experience. Little in the way of explanation or apology after inquiring about the food from the wait staff.
Food itself wasn't worth the wait because of smallish portions and overcooked eggs on the benedict. Overall: not recommended.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 24799613114. feb. 2017
Right around the corner from my hotel, stopped in for a bite of lunch.
What a nice place, the welcome was warm and genuine. The menu had lots of choices, and it was easy to put together a nice little repas.
Wonderful juices! Really good.
Come here, be looked after, eat well, have a nice pause. Sweet place!
Enjoy!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Patricia A.Berlin, Tyskland246120322. apr. 2016
A MUST!!
Super cute place with an "home made atmosphere". We tried the cheese breakfast for two, but without meat.
It was delicious! Lots of good cheese, warm bread rolls and really good fresh orange juice.
We also tried their freshly squeezed justices, with carrot orange beetroot and ginger. Everything really good!
As we were eating we noticed that huge cakes were being served all the time. They all looked incredibly good so we simply had to try one for dessert (even tho we couldn't finish the cheese plate). We chose the apple crumble with vanilla sauce- a cake and sauce from heaven! We were so sad not being able to finish it all. Will def come back and try more cakes and the cheese brekkie again.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - B K.Berlin, Tyskland111464519. dec. 2018
A nice atmosphere, but way too overpriced! €9.90 for ONE little eggs Benedict and a tiny salad. I was still hungry after... this is a joke for the price in this city. Ferrari's parked on the street, so maybe just the wrong side of town. I've had better and more for the same price in Kreuzberg.
