24 Hour Fitness

I bought a two year membership to 24 Hour from Costco online for $300, so I didn't have to deal with any people. The membership is good at any 24 Hour except the Ultra ones, of which there are only two in the Sacramento area. If you work out at 24 Hour I would strongly recommend checking out buying the membership at Costco.
This is a 24 Hour Active / Express, so it is pretty small. There isn't much here if you are into free weights, so you have to be creative. There is no incline, decline, or military press platform; there are only ten weighted barbells (most 24 Hours have at least twenty); no cable seated row; the Express Machines are pneumatic, rather than plates; there are changing rooms, but I am not sure if there are showers available.
This is a good 24 Hour if your workout is not too complicated. It is never crowded (probably because everyone else is going to the 24 Hour on Auburn or Sunrise) and they do have an adequate supply of cardio machines (stair steppers, bikes, treadmills, and elliptical machines). If you feel claustrophobic at the other 24 Hour Centers, try this place out.

This gym has the worst customer service. Frequently there is no one at the front desk as they are sitting in chairs talking with each other. There have been some occasions when there was someone there but they were sitting on the counter. The manager is unprofessional as I have seen her walking around the gym in socks and no shoes. The only people that I see working hard are the maintenance people and they are contracted. The only reason I go to this location is because I can run there and get my cardio out of the way. When I am not running, I visit the club down the street on Sunrise. That club is heads and shoulders above this one when it comes to professionalism of their employees.

I like going to this gym when I visit family- it is clean and never crowded! I can always get a decent workout here without having to wait for machines. They have a larger stretch/ball workout area than the Super sport by my house, so kudos here!

I love this gym!!! Even though it is smaller than other 24 Hours, it has everything I need. It is never very crowded in the mornings, or the occasional weekend I work out. The gals in the morning recently went above and beyond to help me with concern. Not to mention, I am always greeted as if I were family. The gym is clean, comfortable, and everything is in working order. I recommend this gym to anyone who wants a warm, friendly, clean gym to work out in.

I just had to respond to Karin S' review. I was an employee for 3 years straight at this location, and I relocated to a nearby location in April 2010. I was there in January, when she posted, and I can tell you, our managers (none of them) walked around in their socks! And we had always been complimented on our customer service. Sure, no business can please everyone, sometimes there are people who just cannot be pleased (usually they think they are entitled to anything or want something for free, please tell me how many times you go to McDonald's and get something for free just because you want it?) but overall, this was a great gym to work at, and most of the members were fabulous people :)
