This is a very clean and organized airport. I was very impressed with the city of Lyon also because there are not that many cars yet there is quite a lot to see here and it is very easy to get to this airport. It is only about 30 minutes away via automobile. The only thing is that it is quite expensive having paid $100 for a taxi ride from the city to the airport via Uber.

Very small airport. If a late night or early morning flight it's hard to find anyone working.

Lyon airport is located about 30-40 mins drive from downtown Lyon depending on traffic, or 30 mins train ride (run every 15 mins) and cost is about €15, making it convenient to get into the city.
They are currently enforcing passport control, and queue could get long for both entry and exit. One of the officers I encountered wasn't nice when I failed to respond to him in French. He got mad at me for not speaking French.
Fairly small airport, easy to get to your gates. Not much of food options after security, some had typical airport price.
Free wifi throughout the airport but speed was slow. Premium wifi passcode was available at the airline lounge, and it was a bit faster but not steady.
When arriving, if you sit on the left side, you may have a chance to get a glimpse of mountains on sunny day.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - 22. jun. 2019
A bright modern airport. Recently renovated. A little far from the city. 80€. They have a huge duty free shop. A little slow but it was 5:30am. Plenty of seating. Security seemed a little unorganized but I managed to pass without hassle. Restaurants available before and after. Bon voyage

The airport is ugly and unorganized. The security line takes forever and the staff has not idea how to get people through quickly. They are also rude as fuck.
I appreciate you can take the train directly to the airport but the security is nuts.
Give people more info about what they need to do. Encourage them to get crap out of their bags in advance. OPEN ALL THE GOD DAMN SECURITY LINES.
Fly in to Paris and take the train. Fuck this airport.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Eva K.København S8569457812. okt. 2017
It's an okay airport so to speak, small enough to navigate around, also the shops, but boring enough if you have to wait here for a longer time.
There are only Starbucks and other cafes before the security check and two obscure looking bar/restaurants inside. My advice is to tank up outside before going in.
We took the Rhône express to get in and out to the city, it was relatively painless, but beware the long walk from the terminal to the central stationHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jocelyn A.Sacramento, USA5856338. jun. 2018
This is the worst airport I have ever been to. The employees do not know any information regarding delayed flights. I have attempted to speak to people in French and use google translate so they don't have to speak English and they have made very nasty and racist remarks towards me and my friend. Due to bad weather and a long layover I have gone to multiple of the shops and restaurants and they have been so rude to us. I will make sure to NEVER travel to this part of France again.

Airport staffed by French who'd rather be drinking wine or protesting or retiring early. Unhelpful airline staff everywhere. Clueless people - seems like the "first time doing this" each and every time. Fly out of GVA. I'm UA Global Services with 40+ flights in and out of LYS. Trust me. Fly elsewhere.

Arrive very early. Car rental return took 30 minutes from parking to receipt. Biggest delay was at the airport where the security line took 2 hours; causing a lot of stress for passengers watching their flight departure time come and go.

I really enjoyed flying in and out of Lyon- St Exupery. The airport is a mid size regional airport and is well situated for eastern France and west Switzerland. It's really convenient to fly in and out of. When I arrived I took a cab on recommendation from a work friend (from Lyon) to Part Dieux train station (55€) and on the way back I took the tram (15€) which was a breeze. This was done with three huge bags as well. It was a bit tricky navigating the big suitcase and bags through escalators but manageable. There is a small amount of shops and restaurants. I had a jambon-fromage sandwich @ Brioche Dore which was good. The airport has a really cool open "big hall" when you arrive off the tram. Very cool architectural structure. If I need to return back to the region (and avoid the high taxes and craziness of Charles De Gaulle airport) I'll totally fly through here again.
