Aquarena Swimming Complex

I am a massive fan of the Aquarena as I spent many a Saturday here with mates growing up. We loved the fact that there was plenty of space to muck around in and that the top diving board had no rules to how you approach the water like many other pools have. I learned how to summersault here but unfortunately for me the hard way and I left with many a red mark on my belly.

On certain days there is a obstacle course from one end of the pool to the other which was the best thing ever. From the station it is only a 5 minute walk and is great for all the family.

This is a fantastic place to head with the family for an afternoon's fun. The water fume is excellent and the pool itself is massive.

I had a bad knee injury a couple of years back and joined their Pulse City Health and Fitness Suite as my doctor suggested taking up some pool aqua aerobics. My knee was back in shape in no time and I was back sliding down the water flumes!

Do watch out for the crowds at weekends, if possible its best taking a day off or go straight after work.

Although a little antiquated now, it still remains a hive of activity. Access and Parking still remains a problem and one hopes that this will be improved with the next attempt. Though it strives to a friendly and atmospheric establishment..it doesn't quite come off.

there is a gym, sauna, massage treatment rooms and a swimming pool here. i have only ever used the swimming pool which is cold and dirty, not suitable for kids at all. they end up shivering after 10mins! the changrooms are dirty as well. you can see bits floating around in the water, plasters on the floor etc. not nice

there is a lovely 18 million pound structure next door, soon to be finished and opened to the public, cant wait.
