TL;DR: Was in an accident with one of their drivers, got injured, refuse to compensate loss from missing flight and hotel cancellation.
I had been using BA Transfer for 3 years, about 5-10x a year until I was involved in an accident with my driver.
After my driver turned up 20min early picking me up, he completed missed a priority 100 yards away from my home and another car drove into us.
The other car was destroyed, and I ended up going to A&E by myself and by bus for whiplash and concussion injuries.
Not only did I miss my flight, but the driver was pretty insistent on still taking me to the airport. He never declared the accident or my injury, meaning I needed to open a police report.
When chasing BA Transfer to try and get a compensation for my missed flight and hotel cancellation fees, not only did they filter all my calls, but also took 10 weeks to reply to me and refuse to do anything - pushing ALL of the responsibility on the driver.
This accident was now 2 months ago, still going through physiotherapy from the accident, and had to hire a lawyer to try and get my money back from this accident.
BA Transfer have still refused to be cooperative, and have shown a level of borderline illegal behaviour I wish never to see in a business again.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Sheera G.San Francisco, USA2281196251. mar. 2015
It feels a little anachronistic to go to a website (or call!) to book a car these days but there are some situations when booking a BA transfer makes sense over an Uber. I love Uber as much as anyone but BA Transfer has seriously hooked me up twice now.
Scenario 1- Moving to London, arriving at LHR with all my bags. BA had a driver with a sign with my name waiting for me inside the airport- sweet!
Scenario 2- You know you need to get to LGW during peak travel time and dont want to get stuck waiting or surging. I booked a car the night before my flight and knew I'd be good to go in the morning.
BA Transfer appears to be on par with or even below Uber's flat rates to the London airports.
The only puzzling thing about this service is if a one-way journey is £51, why is a roundtrip £108? Aren't I just incentivized to book two separate one ways?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Wen K.South of Market, San Francisco, USA0126. sep. 2018
Awful faulty on line booking system, I have been using their service since 2012, also though they were a good company to go with. But my recent experience were terrible, their booking system did not indicate pick up tick for am or pm, and mixed up my booking, would not refund me for their system mistake! Won't recommend! Very bad customer service too, not helpful. Please go and try someone else!

Absolutely appalling, another instance of driver not turning up at the airport at the nominated time with BA transfer. Call their helpdesk when we reached the arrivals hall and the operator informed us that the driver was on his way and will be there in 15-20mins due to traffic. Driver finally arrived some 40mins later after several more calls to the operator, and BA transfer would not offer any discount on this journey (although they will charge you for waiting time). Have been a loyal customer for a number of years but will look elsewhere from now on after several late pickups (especially from the airport)!!

Booked transfer from hotel to LHR. Driver was late so we booked another car service. Extremely rude customer service at office. Argued with me and told me I didn't have manners. Would not refund so we are taking it up with our CC company. Will never use again. If I could give zero stars I would.

Best private Taxi service for the airports I've used so far. Very good online interface, with text message updates and email alerts. You can pay online in advance or just select cash and give it to the driver at the end. The prices are consistently the lowest and way cheaper than getting a black cab or the local minicabs near where I live.
I've always got a nice people carrier (MPV) despite selecting the cheaper saloon car. It's a fiver more to get picked up from Heathrow than to go there as the driver has to pay for the carpark and then wait around with your name on a sign.
Of course, the online system has a box where you can put in whatever you want the driver to have on his sign....
tempted to go for 'Amanda Huggenkiss' next time.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anil D.London, Storbritannien164. jan. 2017
Driver fiddled on his phones (yes, two different phones) the entire ride. With kids in the car, I thought this was doubly irresponsible.
Charged a waiting fee at the airport, when we had just gone over the allowed grace period time. After a red eye I didn't want to fight it, because i just wanted to get my bags inside the flat, but I was really upset about it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicole R.Manhattan, New York, USA102221126. jul. 2013
I booked BA Transfer for bringing my parents to and from the airport this week, and we had a nice experience with them. You can book online which is good for people like me who don't really like using phones and who also don't have good reception where they live. You can also either pay online, over the phone, or by cash to the driver. You could also book a return journey for a later date, if I remember for a small discount. When looking around other minicab websites, this one seemed the least expensive, and they even have a deal that you get around 10-15% off for creating an account on their website.
Also really helpful is that on the website you tell them what your flight arrival is and then can ask to come at a specific time later, and they'll track your flight so that if your flight ends up being early or delayed they get there earlier or later, respectively.
The driver we had got to the airport on time and was very courteous and helpful. They also picked my parents up at their hotel when they had to go back to Heathrow and got there on time. Everything went very smoothly, and considering the prices and convenience I would definitely use BA Transfer again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yasemin K.London, Storbritannien0123. jun. 2017
Before going into the details of our latest experience with Batransfer (also known as AirportOnly), let me point out that we have been using the company for years and have already spent about £1500 with them over the years.
We made our last booking through BA Transfer. This booking was to transport my parents from Gatwick airport to our house.
The booking was made for a 945am pick-up, allowing 30mins post the scheduled landing time of the flight. The total charge for this was £50.35, including a £8 meet and greet/pick-up surcharge. The booking specifically mentioned there would be no other hidden costs.
My parents' flight landed 15mins later than scheduled. The taxi firm states that they monitor flight landing times to ensure drivers do not wait longer than necessary. However, on this occasion the driver started calling me at 930am saying he had already been waiting for a long time. I told him the flight was originally meant to land at 915am, was delayed c.15mins to 930am and I had specifically made the booking for 30mins post landing (i.e. he should have only arrived at 10am). He hung up and then called again after about 10mins being very grumpy and rude. I said I would let my parents know to hurry.
Once my parents met with the driver, he was extremely rude, refused to help them in any way with their luggage (I.e.left my mum to drag her own luggage) and banged the doors and was generally very unprofessional. He then proceeded to drive very fast, brake late and in general driving very erratically all the way back from Gatwick to Wandsworth. My parents were very scared and felt sick and the driver carried on being rude.
Upon arrival at our house, the driver demanded £16 extra from my parents stating it was because he had to wait too long. The driver was asked his name and badge number, which he refused to provide. My parents were tired and feeling threatened and so we reluctantly paid him the £16 just to leave us in peace.
I have subsequently complained to the company's customer service department numerous times asking for a written apology for the appalling customer service of the specific driver and for a refund of the £16 additional charge for which I still do not have a full explanation. All I managed to extract from them is that the driver's name is Sivaganesh and his badge number is 178265. They have flatly refused to offer a refund and any apology from the driver.
I am absolutely appalled by this company, lack of customer service. More specifically also by the driver:
1) his rude and unprofessional behavior
2) his erratic and dangerous driving style
3) the £16 extra charge that I had to pay in cash without a receipt, and I'm sure will not show up in his or the company's taxable income
I would not recommend this company to anyone. Stay away!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott W.Lawndale, USA74426. jun. 2011Først til at anmelde
My parents and I were in the UK for a cruise in June of 2011. We used BA Transfer three times (from Heathrow to Dover, Dover to Central London, and London to Heathrow). Each time, the driver had already been waiting at least five minutes before our agreed-upon time. The drivers were professional and very friendly. We felt safe with their driving as well.
I found booking the trips online to be very easy and convenient, and the price was lower than any of the other services that I could see. Despite the low price, the cars were clean and very nice (the first two were Mercedes vans, I don't remember what make the third one was).
After a long journey from California, we were keeping our fingers crossed about BA Transfer working out for us, as I couldn't find reviews for the company and we didn't really know what to expect. We were grateful that it turned out so well. Every aspect of our experience was really perfect and we couldn't have asked for more! Next time I'm in the UK, I'm definitely going to use them again for getting to and from the airport.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
