Binny Plants

OK, so you can buy from this nursery online but I just love visiting this place. From the long bumpy driveway to the winding paths through the Walled gardens of thousands of potted plants it is my idea of bliss.
Working on the theory that if they are grown in Scotland they have got to be hardy I have some real treaures from here.
They specialise in unusual perennials, ferns & grasses and are always lovely healthy plants.
They are open All year except mid December to mid January. Daily10am to 5pm

Binny Plants is a paradox. Silver Gilt medals at Chelsea and highly regarded at Gardening Scotland we found a visit to them a mixed affair. Their peonies as you would expect are a fine display an worth every penny. Look for other perennials and it is a different story. the walled garden is full of plants, many of them are pot pound and full of weeds. It looks as if the place is just too big for the number of staff employed. So stick to the peonies if shopping at Binny plants.
