I will give this hotel a 4/5 due to their terrible wifi. Granted we are on the 4th floor, however the wifi basically doesn't even work. That would be the only downfall to this place as they offer free luggage storage and their staff are very friendly. We asked them for recommendations on their restaurants and they came through with not only recommendations, but directions as well. They sell drinks downstairs,
soda, water, bottles of wine, etc. However we wanted red wine and they only sold white so we went to a nearby grocery store and bought a bottle of red and the hotel was nice enough to supply us with a wine bottle opener! The hotel is very close to nearby metro stops and is actually right next to the orly bus stop, a major plus! If you're interested in the catacombs, they are only a block or two away. However, yes the lines are long all day so that is something we decided to avoid. The staff was welcoming and friendly and the cleaning service never let us down. Free coffee and shampoo and conditioner in the hotel is always a plus! Also, I attached a photo of the bath tub, it was AMAZING! I will recommend this place to friends in the future
Although it is a little further from the city center than I would have liked, the good outweighs the bad and the price makes it worth those simple 1.90€ passes to the city center!

This would have been a four star review until check out day. Great room, great location and friendly staff. Rate was excellent booked through expedia.com. The problems? The AC quit working the night before check out, and the evening clerk denied that there was any problem. Talk to the hand that does not speak English now. The bigger problem was the taxi scam that the morning front desk clerk tried to pull on us. When checking out, she offered to call a cab for us. Paris has a flat 55e rate for trips to Degaulle Airport, so I said sure. Once the cab arrived, the driver ran inside for something before loading our bags. Once loaded up, he demanded an 7e extra fee for the ride, which was clearly a payoff for either the hotel itself, or the clerk. The public taxi stand was steps away, and we unloaded our bags and grabbed a cab without the shakedown fee. Once we unloaded, the driver went back into the hotel presumably to get his money back. Shady!

I've had such mixed experiences with this hotel. Oddly, I've stayed here twice for work and two different academic institutions both use this place to host their guests. I had a 5 star visit and a 2 star visit....so let's call this 3.5

The ROOMS: Small, but well laid-out. They've been undergoing a renovation program to renovate the rooms slowly but surely. The renovated rooms are nice and quite comfortable. The un-renovated rooms are a bit tired. Bathrooms are pretty decent size for a hotel in Paris. Internet was pretty good on my last visit.

The STAFF: This area drives a lot of the mixed reviews. I've had them be *almost* friendly, which is pretty good for employees of a French hotel. I've also had them be awful. My first stay was during a heat wave in July, and my first room had a broken air conditioner. It was such a fight to get them to move me to a different room, and the clerk kept insisting that I would have to pay the difference in rate for the move. This is just exceptionally poor customer service. If a room is defective, you simply move the customer to a room where everything works.

The BREAKFAST: Skip it. Croissant, industrial cheese and baguette, jam, and a coffee. Sad little breakfast room off the lobby. Not worth the 10 Euro they want to charge...plenty of other better, cheaper (kind of like the Daft Punk song) options nearby.

The LOCATION: I like staying in this location (Denfert Rochereau in the 14th district) because you get the perfect balance of location and value. You're right next to an RER stop and a metro station, so it's easy to get wherever you want to go. The area is also not too touristy, so you can dine with locals in some of the cute cafes, bars, and restaurants nearby. You're also near the catacombs, but I've never managed to be available when the lines were short.

OVERALL, it's a place I would consider staying again despite my mixed review. Just hope you get a nice staff person, a renovated room, and skip breakfast.

I was very happy with this small hotel in the 14th. It was clean and comfortable but most important was its location. Easy access to the RER B (for the airport) and M (4 & 6). Plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants very close, some of which were my favorites in Paris.
