Had an awesome night. The waiter Antiono was terrific, and my son had an amazing meal called "The Full House Platter" which was incredible. I had the best Fish & Chip in London. This meal turn out to be one of the highlights of our trip to England. I highly recommend Wright Brothers but make sure you get reservations in advance as it is very popular!!

My wife and me came for her 50th. Ok, to go without reservation was probably too optimistic. We got admitted but were seated in a bistro-style anteroom, unfortunately quite windy and cold. So this turned out not very comfy. The service was good. Oysters were very good. Besides that I found the selection not very impressive considering the price. Altogether the evening left mixed feelings we were ready to spend but did not feel we got our moneys worth. Ok, we planned too late. Not the fault of the restaurant....

Came here for dinner on my recent trip to London. It was one of the highlighted meals of this trip. Remember when I went to Paris several years ago after graduate school, I didn't spurge on the seafood plater deluxe that time. So I didn't ended up trying the French crab (aka brown crab). With much regrets I was determined to get this brown crab baby into our stomach this time around.
There are a few Wright brothers in London, not every location offers this plater. For instance, the one at the borough market doesn't.
Tip* you have to make a reservation and leave a phone number so they can call you. If you are like me... didn't have a local phone that they can reach you, leave the number of your hotel, or promise to show up on time and actually show up on time. I wanted to thank the manager - Danny. He was very nice and helpful to us. Without this help we won't be able to get a table for two on Saturday night-- booking the night before. Thank you!
We came here for the seafood -- the seafood deluxe was our target. Everything was soooo yummy. The tiny snails, tiny sweet shrimps that you don't have to peel, oysters, clams, mussels, LANGOUSTINE, and THE BROWN CRAB. It was messy to eat it but it was so worth it. First of all for the price -- it was a no brainer. I've never seen a seafood plater this affordable in NYC. I am sure you can get this if you are willing to pay a lot for it. Boy, I can eat the crab all by myself and die happy. Too bad I can't eat another one because I would if I could put down more food.
We also ordered a bunch of other stuff. They were good but since I was so full after the seafood plater, they weren't as memorable to me. I think we got sushi/sashimi with ponzu, grilled Argentinian prawns, and beet root salad.
If I were to stay for one more day, I would go back again for the crab.
The one star was taken out because our waitress was not attentive. We had to flag her down and waited for her for a long time to fill our water glasses.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 16. maj 2017
It's in soho London and I had my stop for some oysters- I don't want to say it's not good but not as great as the oysters I had in states.
For some reason, most seafood in U.K. were pretty fishy.
They are famous in their oysters and I did enjoy mine. The service was really nice even tho I only had oysters and a glass of wine.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 20. maj 2018
Nice selection of fresh oysters, though they were not properly shucked, had to work at each of them to separate from shells.
Grilled prawns were pointless; impossible to separate meat from shell and unpleasant to eat with shell on.
Squid tempura was tasty though a bit too oily, and very plainly plated just a few strips of squid on a bare plate.
In the end we both felt we'd made a poor choice for dinner and would not return.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 28. aug. 2017
Great location with food that was very good but the service was awful. It took about 45 minutes to get one of our entrees (the other was served right away and we didn't see the server in the meantime).
Oysters are 1 pound each from 12-6p at this location. That's a great deal and I went through 18 for my lunch.
There are daily lunch specials that are very fairly priced as well.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jacqueline C.New York, USA44024041317. jun. 2018
We were walking along Carnaby street when my friend was craving oysters. We decided to come to Wright Brothers which is located on the ground floor of Kingly Court and has outdoor seating.
We got a half dozen variety with some prawn cocktails. All the oysters and prawns were fresh and yummy! We also got the tuna ceviche to follow. This was good too but not the best I've had. We also ordered some hot food to share - soft shell crab and fries. After trying everything, I can say the oysters and prawn cocktails were the winners.
I highly recommend trying the raw seafood here. We also found out that they do £1 oysters for happy hour every day from 3-6PM so I'll definitely be back for happy hour!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Melissa H.Portland, USA1811766317. jan. 2020
With a lot to pick from in this area, I was glad to have landed on the Wright Bros location. I was "flying solo" for this outing and the service was wonderful.
The seafood was quite fresh and the cocktails were
I enjoyed the flying solo platter that included a little taste of everything. It was the perfect amount for one. Cocktail selection had me leaning bloody mary for the first round, spicy, Mary lover's don't hesitate!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sophia L.Boston, USA244677. jul. 2018
Tip: Go during Oyster Happy Hour, when select oysters are £1. Got 2 dozen Lindisfarne, which were some of the best I have ever had. They are quite meaty and not too brine-y, which is just the way I like them. They are served with small diced onions in vinegar and lemon wedges as well as Tabasco sauce.
We also got a House Platter, which we asked for without oysters, so it came with whelks, mussels, clams, and shell-on prawns. The clams were too salty for my taste, but the the rest of the selection was amazing. The platter was served with some mayo-based sauce and a lemon wedge.
As recommended by our waiter, we also got a few small plates to share to complement our raw bar selection. The yellowfin tuna takaki was too thinly sliced for my taste, and the tempura fried rye bay squid was a bit doughy although very well fried.
Service was great, especially since we went early and were situated conveniently by their convergence point.
While the meal did make a non-trivial hole in the wallet, I thought it was reasonable given the location and quality of food. Will definitely return once my bank account recovers!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Soomin R.London, Storbritannien854392365. jun. 2016
Went for lunch, and had a good experience overall.
We had oysters for starter, then I had a king prawn for my main. The oysters were fresh, though slightly overpriced. After the meal, we were told that they do oyster happy hours 3-5pm every day for £1 per oyster, so try to aim for that. My king prawn was good, though also overpriced for the quantity, I would say.
Service was generally good and prompt.
We sat outdoors as it was a sunny day and really enjoyed the experience. Would recommend it if the weather permits.
All in all, a great seafood place, but do be warned about the prices!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
