Fish bones - in downtown or any location
Has never been that good - very mediocre.
If ur looking for comparable NOLA in metro Det is , Howes Bijou in Ferndale is excellent
Had a great lunch - it's been a few years since I was last in.
Was a bit disappointed that red royal shrimp are no longer on offer.
However the fresh gulf shrimp were very large and flavorful and as a treat " fried " shrimp worth the calories !
Up the street from Claridges , on Brook st
Is probably the oldest , since Le Tante Claire - went under, Sadly.
And is still doing well after all these years - is probably the next best authentic French in London.
the brothers "Roux" own and operate.
They created BA Concorde menu's in hand with a well known sommelier.
The food and wines were exquisite !
Very Edwardian feel to London's oldest restaurant. A private entrance is still visible for Lily Langtry and King Edward VII used to meet in private & Charles Dickens used to pass as a boy , and enjoyed the snells wafting up. And of course cld afford to eat there, after fame followed.
I eat here every time I visit , and you simply can't go wrong ! I love the Dover sole & a Pimms cup & trifle for desert. However If wild game is more what ur looking for they have pheasant and wild foul. Sourced just for Rules, from the country.
And as far as London prices go , for the quality and unique dinning rooms on 3 floors , I think they moved the bar & lounge to the 3rd floor of this narrow restaurant.
Close to the city , so you will be seated next to barristers and MP members, as they love rules also- very old school British institution.
Food was hit n miss. Yet I'm not nitpicking - all and all good.
We had lots of food , the banger was good and fish was ok.
Service was the Best . We had a lovely , classy - professional waitress , who was always there , yet never hovered.
She saw drinks needed freshening - she was there - good service is 1/2 the dinning experience!
