No chance to sample the food. We were a group of 4 for a birthday party with one additional guest stuck in traffic. Despite our assurance we were not being seated unless as a full group. We left very frustated after 25 min waiting at the bar to go elsewhere. I have never heard of such a policy, certainly not with only one person missing and an essentially empty restaurant. A very disappointing experience and staff in dealing with us.

One of the finest nouvelle cuisine restaurants in Düsseldorf. Food presentation was excellent, particularly desert blew us away. Taste was "only" solid good quality, albeit some dishes arrived lukewarm.
Sadly the management transfered our table from the requested private function room into the main dining area to host another, bigger group without prior notice. This was disappointing. Staff was competent but not particularly friendly.


In terms of location and atmosphere, however, it remains an institution in the Altstadt. The management is risking to lose this reputation if they do not step up their game. Still 4 stars but going 3.

Immer noch ein Geheimtipp, aber längst auf dem Weg in die Mitte der Gesellschaft. Hier trifft sich Samstags die East London Schickeria um Bio-Kost und Spezilitäten zu kaufen, aber vor allem um gesehen zu werden und die letzten Vintage Klamotten zu präsentieren. Die eine Hälfte spaziert, die andere Hälfte knippst. Auf jede Fall einen Besuch wert. Vor 11 am und nach 5 pm ist nichts los.

Nice and family friendly restaurant on busy Regent Street with a back window to Parkers Piece. We came with a large group of friends and the staff was very helpful in arranging tables. The restaurant has a spacious feel to it and is nice and light inside. Open kitchen with a "fake" pizza oven. We even had a table in the afternoon sun. Nice!


The food was decent albeit not too generous in portions (except for the calzone). This means you have to order a starter or a side dish with your main to be fed properly. With a variety of dishes most of us ended up paying about 12 pounds each without desert.
Service was very attentive and filled our water pitcher several times without us asking for it, which I thought was great service.


Verdict: Quality and price between "Bella Italia" and "Jamies Italy". The food is solid and tasty, but portions are too small to take a main only. A three course dinner will cost approx. 15-17 pound. Very good for large groups, which is rare in Cambridge.


Shame though that I am not aware of a non-chain Italian restaurant among the Carluccios, Zizzis and Bella Italias ... Best pizza is still served at The Red Bull.
